Plage d’Agadir, a lively stretch along the city’s seafront that spans about 7 miles. And that’s not even counting the other scenic coastal beaches in the region. This beach is a lively mosaic of sunbathers, swimmers, and water sports enthusiasts. Along the shore, there’s a charming promenade with cafes and shops, creating a dynamic blend of city vibes and ocean serenity. Every day brings a fresh scene of vibrant beach life against the stunning backdrop of the Atlantic. From dawn till late at night, the beach is buzzing with activity.”

My Journey and unforgettable moments at the Main Beach

Oh, I just had the most amazing time at Agadir Beach! The moment I set foot on the sand, I couldn’t help but notice how incredibly soft and clean it was. If you’re not staying in a beachfront hotel, no worries there are sun loungers and shades available for rent. The whole beach vibe is just perfect for some serious relaxation.

I spent most of my days on the beach, soaking up the sun and enjoying the fantastic view. The strip nearby is lined with restaurants and shops, making it super convenient for a quick bite or some shopping after a lazy day by the sea. And let me tell you, the promenade is a gem taking a relaxed walk there, you get to see camels casually strolling by, adding a touch of charm to the whole experience.

But, of course, there’s always a small hiccup in paradise. The only downside was the constant hustle from people trying to sell their items. A polite “no” did the trick, though, and they would move on. Despite this minor annoyance, the overall cleanliness of the sea and the beach made it easy to overlook.

The sea was a bit rough, but that didn’t stop me from enjoying it. The water was clean, and the temperature was just perfect for a refreshing dip. Honestly, I couldn’t have asked for a better holiday. March turned out to be an ideal time to visit, with the temperature just right.

• • Café del Mar: It is a popular spot offering a relaxed atmosphere with views of the ocean, serving coffee, pastries, and snacks. Had an awesome time at this place by the seafront! The location was perfect, right on the promenade with a killer view of the beach. The starters were meh, but the main courses were fantastic. We tried fish, entrecôte, and calamari, all super delicious.

    The staff were friendly and really helpful. I liked it so much that I came back for drinks another night and chilled on the sofas. Great service, great food, and a beautiful spot by the beach.

• • Hotel Agadir Beach Club: I stayed at this awesome beachfront hotel. The location was perfect, right on the beach, though the air condition in my room could’ve been better. The staff, including the animation team, were super friendly, making me feel like part of the family. I’d recommend staying here, just hoping for improved air condition!

    The beach was cool, they had it roped off, and the breakfast buffet was a win for me. My room was cozy, letting me fall asleep to the sound of the ocean. The pool area was my go-to on windy days. Overall, my stay was solid!

Moroccan Cuisine

• • Pure Passion Restaurant: I had such a great time at this restaurant that I decided to visit it two more times. The food was amazing, they were offering a range of Moroccan dishes with a modern twist, especially the Surf and Turf with the fillet steak that practically melted in my mouth. If I ever find myself back in Agadir, I’ll definitely revisit for another delicious meal. Even though it’s a bit pricier than other places along the Agadir promenade, the quality of the food makes it a top choice for me.

    However, I have to admit, the collection and drop-off service were a bit of a letdown. Despite being recommended by hotels as the main selling point, they messed up the service three times in one week without offering any apology. It was quite frustrating, but the tasty food still made the overall experience worthwhile for me.

• • Le Nil Bleu: This restaurant serves Moroccan, Seafood, Mediterranean, European, and Middle Eastern cuisine. One specialty of this restaurant is vegetarian friendly.

    My search for budget-friendly dining led me to Le Nil Bleu, where I ended up going three times during Agadir Beach’s amazing journey. The paella royal was my first choice, recommended by fellow reviewers. On the second night, I tried the seafood salad, and on the third night, the seafood pizza  all paired with refreshing alcohol-free mojitos (they offer alcoholic ones too). The prices were very reasonable. The ocean view added to the experience, and the vibrant atmosphere with a buzzing crowd (always a good sign) often featured live music.

    On my first night, a 70-year-old Moroccan man sang covers, including Pink Floyd’s “We Don’t Need No Education.” The menu was diverse, offering salads, pasta, fantastic seafood, and tagine.

    But the only downside was its poor service, not professional at all and needs a lot of improvement.

Seafood Specialties

• • La Scala: This is a seaside restaurant that focuses on fresh seafood, offering various dishes made from locally sourced fish and shellfish.

    It’s right across from the Riu Palace Hotel. When I had lunch on the terrace, it was good, especially the excellent fish and seafood. The service was a bit slow, and I noticed the prices were a bit higher.

• • Fish Market: This place is all about seafood, serving freshly caught dishes in a casual, beachside setting.

    I enjoyed the Fish market because I love seafood. People from the area buy their seafood there, and prices are clear. They have a good variety of fish. If you’re staying in a place with a kitchen, you should visit. Just wear closed shoes because the floor can be wet.

International Flavours

• • Little Norway: Despite the name, the menu has a mix of international dishes and Moroccan favorites, all with a view of the Atlantic.

    I had a fantastic time at this restaurant in Agadir. The customer service was excellent, and the staff was friendly, especially our host Muhammad. The atmosphere was calm and relaxed, and the food was amazing.

• • Bollywood: It’s a beachfront Indian restaurant with aromatic curries and tandoori dishes, adding international flavor to dining by the beach.

    I had the lamb biryani and desi chai, both tasted just like homemade. The flavors were excellent, highly recommend them. I satisfied my Indian food craving, thanks to the Pakistani chefs who did a great job. Lovely food!

It has a pretty setup with a shaded terrace. The staff is really helpful. They make awesome French pastries – their tart au citron is the best I’ve ever had. Breakfast choices are really good too.

• • Sunset Bar: Sunset Bar is where I like to relax with a cool drink and watch the sun go down. The chill vibes and friendly bartenders make it a great spot for a simple, but special, coastal getaway.

• Agadir Beach Club’s Bar: I love hanging out at Agadir Beach Club’s Bar, where I can enjoy different cocktails and drinks right by the beach. It’s a super relaxed place, perfect for winding down after a sunny day.

Taghazout Beach, not far from Agadir. It is a super cool spot for surfing. It’s famous for its relaxed atmosphere and really good waves. Whether you’re new to surfing or already a pro, everyone loves it here. Surf schools by the beach are there to help you learn and rent a board.

Taghazout is super friendly. People hang out around beach bonfires, sharing cool stories, especially when the sun sets, making every day at Taghazout Beach super fun and memorable. It is not just a beach; it’s a surfing paradise where everyone can catch good vibes and have a great time. With its perfect blend of waves and a welcoming atmosphere, Taghazout Beach truly stands out as the go-to spot for a fantastic surfing experience.

Cozy Cafes and Lively Spots at Taghazout Beach

Taghazout Beach has more to offer than just surfing. Along the shore, you’ll find cozy cafes and eateries, perfect for savoring local dishes or enjoying a cup of coffee with stunning sea views. I tried the local treats and a cup of coffee with bautiful sea view.

It’s the perfect way to relax after surfing or just enjoy the laid-back beach atmosphere while watching the surfers do their thing.

Banana Point

Banana Point is this super cool beach near Agadir, kind of like a secret hideout. It’s not as busy as the main beach, which is awesome. It’s like my special place for some quiet time.

The beach is so pretty, with amazing views. And guess what? It’s not just beautiful it’s also perfect for surfing without too many people around. If you want to relax or try surfing in a cozy place, Banana Point is the spot!

I love that it’s like a little escape, away from all the busy noise and rush. You can just chill, and it feels like your own private beach. I think it’s great for families or anyone who wants a calm day by the sea.

Keep things in mind before visiting Banana Point

Now, let’s talk about a few things you might want to keep in mind. The Point is conveniently located about 10km from Agadir and some people might find it a bit strange that there are no actual bananas around and Some folks are even talking about giving it a new name to better fit the rocky entry point.

Be careful when you head into the water, though, as there are these small rocks that can be a bit uncomfortable on your feet. Also, there’s someone who visited and didn’t have the best time, so they’re not too keen on coming back.

But you know what? Despite these little quirks, Banana Point is my go-to place when I want peace, beautiful views, and a bit of surfing fun. It’s like my secret paradise by the ocean!

La Plage De Riu Palace Takida is like the super fancy part of Agadir’s beach. It’s part of the really nice Riu Palace Takida resort. When I went there, it felt like stepping into a special and upscale beach experience. The services were fantastic, and the amenities were really fancy, making the whole stay absolutely awesome.

If you stay at Riu Palace Takida, you get to have a super fancy beach experience. The hotel management provide you umbrellas and loungers that are really comfy, and the staff is always ready to help. The sandy beach is super clean and nice, making it the perfect place to relax. It’s like a special oasis where you can soak up the sun and enjoy the sea in a really nice setting.

During my stay at Rui Tikida Palace, I enjoyed the hotel’s private beach, part of the 12-kilometer-long Agadir Beach. A staff member even brought mattress for extra comfort. Thanks to the hotel’s great hospitality.
